Sun City Resort, in partnership with government and private sector stakeholders, marked Nelson Mandela Day by handing over two fully furnished homes to deserving families in Ledig, reaffirming its commitment to community upliftment and sustainable development.
The homes, which include sustainable food gardens, were officially handed over during a ceremony attended by the North West MEC for Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT), Bitsa Lenkopane, Moses Kotane Local Municipality Mayor, alongside representatives from Sun City Resort and key public and private sector partners.
The initiative is aimed at restoring dignity, improving living conditions and empowering beneficiary families through access to safe housing and food security. The inclusion of food gardens is expected to help families become more self-sustainable while promoting long-term community resilience.
Speaking during the handover, stakeholders described the project as a powerful example of what can be achieved when government, business and community partners work together to create lasting change.The event highlighted Sun City Resort’s continued investment in corporate social responsibility and its commitment to making a meaningful impact in communities beyond its tourism operations.
The project was made possible through the collaboration of Sun City Resort, Mangwe TVET College, Mangwe Game Trackers, SSG and other partners, whose combined efforts brought hope and dignity to the beneficiary families.
