DJ Les whose real name is Lesego Morake believes you can achieve anything you put your mind toom
The House, Afro-House, Hip-hop and Kwaito Dj said although he loved sports growing up, it was fate that he found himself in the music industry. The DJ from Motlhabe village told North-West Unlocked that he grew up loving and playing soccer, even wanted to make it into the professional league and had a stint with few clubs before an injury that ended his career.
He said he also had the love for music and listening to radio but not knowing that’s where he will end up. He said after moving to Tlhabane, he discovered his other talent when a friend introduced him to DJ’ing. “ I continued with playing soccer while studying electrical engineering. But as years went by, I was featured on a local community radio station by my mentor Bushy Sekhu and that’s where I was introduced to radio presenting,” he said.“I grew as a Dj playing in various events, I even had an opportunity to play around Johannesburg.”
His journey began, he never look back and opportunities came rolling. In 2010, Les become a Youth radio station content and technical producer, presenter and peer educator at Bafokeng Youth Center in Luka. The platform also opened doors for him as he became a resident Dj at Tsitsing stadium Public Viewing area during the world cup. And he says that’s where he faced a huge crowd as a Dj and Mc on the opening day. He later joined the local community radio station as a presenter and producer on various shows. “I was discovered by Smashing Promotions in 2017 after successful auditions at Sun City Resort as a Dj/Mc and I have been under the same agency.”
Dj Les now plays at Valley of waves,Pool decks, Clubs around the resort and also does corporate events. The talented Dj is also a devoted entrepreneur. His goal is to grow and expand into other businesses. He runs 705 Trading and Projects Company where he hires out Compact sound system for various events, also venturing into the décor business.
“I am also making my way back into radio after being recruited by a continental internet station, which I will share more information about in just few weeks,” he said.As a dynamic and energetic DJ. He specialize in creating unforgettable experiences with his unique sound. With over 20 years of experience, he has honed the skills in mixing, blending, and performing. He plays Weddings Corporate events Parties Night clubs.
