THE family of Refilwe Bogopane describes him as a loving family man whose life touched many people around him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking through grief and heartbreak following his tragic death, the family says they are still struggling to come to terms with the painful loss after he was shot dead at Rustenburg Taxi Rank on Friday, 22 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the family, Refilwe was known for his friendly personality, kindness, and the love he shared with those close to him. They describe him as someone who brought people together and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His passing has left a deep void within the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The family also shares that Refilwe had a deep love for music, which brought him joy and connected him to others. Many people enjoyed his company because of his warm and welcoming nature, and they say he will truly be missed.”He was a family man, loving and friendly. He loved music and enjoyed being around people. Many people enjoyed his company, and he will truly be missed,” the family said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Refilwe’s cousin, Mogotsi Bogopane, said he received the devastating news on Friday and immediately rushed to the scene. He described the moment as heartbreaking and painful after seeing his cousin lying lifeless.”It was devastating for me to see my brother, my cousin, in that state, lifeless,” said Mogotsi Bogopane.Despite the pain and shock surrounding the incident, the family says they are relieved that suspects linked to the matter have been arrested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They believe justice will prevail and are hopeful that the law will take its course.”We are grateful that the suspects were arrested, and we believe justice will be served,” Mogotsi added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The family further reveals that Refilwe had previously expressed fears for his safety, saying he believed his life was under threat at some point. According to relatives, he even had bodyguards for a period due to concerns about his safety, making his tragic death even more painful for those close to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lebogang Bogopane also described Refilwe as a caring and loving person whose presence brought happiness to those around him. The family says they want him to be remembered not for the tragic manner in which he died but for the love, warmth, music, and kindness he shared throughout his life.As the family continues to mourn the loss, they have called for justice while urging communities to stand against violence that continues to leave many families grieving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
