EARLY dawn on Sunday,\u202f26\u202fOctober\u202f2025, the Sun\u202fCity resort buzzed with energy as cyclists, runners, walkers and aerobics enthusiasts gathered for the annual GM\u202fKasi\u202fRide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With zero entry fees and open doors for all ages, the event kicked off with 43\u202fkm and 21\u202fkm cycling waves at 05:30\u202fam, followed by a 21km half\u2011marathon, a 10\u202fkm run, and a 5\u202fkm fun walk\/run, all winding through the scenic Sun\u202fCity landscape and the vibrant neighbouring townships.
The day blended sport with wellness, featuring mental\u2011health talks, free health screenings, live performances, whose sets kept the crowd
buzzing.

With smiles, high\u2011fives, and a buzz of excitement for next year\u2019s event, participants left Sun\u202fCity feeling energised, inspired, and proud
to have turned a simple weekend ride into a powerful reminder that together, we
can push limits, lift each other up, and keep the township vibe alive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sun City General Manager Brett Hopp\u00e9 said that the GM Kasi Ride has become a highly anticipated event on Sun City\u2019s annual calendar, which is remarkable for a Resort filled with weekly sport and entertainment offerings. \u201cThe GM Kasi Ride is a unique event that brings our guests together with community members to promote physical fitness and mental health advocacy, all while having a lot of fun.\u201d

<\/div>\u00a0He said the GM Kasi Ride embodies Sun City’s commitment to promoting health and wellness inclusively and making a difference in the communities in which it operates. “We received 7000 people this year. It was a such a success and we hope to grow to 10000 people for next year\u2019s event.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gopolang\u202fSefanyetso who took first position in he 21km race said shared his excitement: \u201cHonestly, I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d win, so this is a huge success for me!\u201d He said last year he couldn\u2019t finish his race, however he had told himself that this year he wants to be in the top three.

Thato sekhute  who scooped second position in the 21km cycling said he was overwhelmed and that he had a lot of fun. \u201cIt\u2019s was worth it, and am super great for the opportunity.\u201d

Jeffrey khudege took first position in the 21km cycling. The next GM\u202fKasi\u202fRide is set for 25\u202fOctober\u202f2026, with registration details to be
announced soon.
