


The chairperson of the ANC in the North West, Nono Maloyi is in pole position to retain his position at the elective provincial conference.
This is according to lists that had been published on social media, his name appeared on two of the three lists for the chairperson’s position.
The provincial secretary, Louis Diremelo is set to be the deputy chairperson; his name also appeared on two lists.
Former Bojanala regional secretary Tokyo Matabogo appeared in the list as a candidate for the provincial secretary post.
The list, believed to be from Bojanala, has Education MEC, Viola Motsumi as deputy secretary and deputy speaker in the North West Provincial Legislature, Collen Maine as the treasurer.
The list also named Bojanala chairperson and Rustenburg mayor, Shiela Mabale-Huma as an addition member together with Bojanala Platinum District Municipality mayor, Suzan Nthangeni, Sport MEC Virginia Tlhapi, former Rustenburg mayor, Mathews Wolmarans, Sipho Dial and Morerele mayor, George Manyike.
The second list had Collen Maine as the candidate for provincial secretary position.
Viola Motsumi as deputy secretary and North West Finance MEC, Kenetswe Mosenogi as the treasurer.
The third list had deputy chairperson and North West premier Lazarus Mokgosi as a candidate for chairperson.
Health MEC Sello Lehari as deputy chairperson, former Rustenburg mayor Mpho Khunou as secretary, Tebogo Modise as deputy secretary and Kenetswe Humane as the treasurer.
The ANC has mandated all provinces to conclude their conference by the end of March.
However, the SABC reported that the North West was talking to Luthuli House pleading for the provincial conference to be moved to May, due to delayed verification reports
