A heartbreaking injustice has emerged Koster, where a family is fighting for the rights of their father, a 40-year veteran of one of the local mines. Despite his dedication and hard work, the family claims the mine owner has refused to acknowledge their father’s shareholder status or pay out his rightful dues.

Issac Tshinawe, who worked tirelessly for four decades, has not received his pension fund, and the owner has shockingly cited a dubious reason for withholding payment: “I built your father a house, so he owes me.” This claim has left the family stunned, and they are now pleading for justice.

“We just want what’s rightfully ours,” said the daughter of the deceased. Betty says thier father worked hard for 40 years, and now they’re refusing to give him what’s due to him. It’s not just about the money; it’s about respect. The family has provided evidence of the man’s shareholder status, but the mine owner remains unresponsive.

The only payment made was a meager R20,000 towards the funeral expenses.”How does the company justify withholding pension funds and shareholder dividends from a loyal employee who dedicated his life to the mine,” the family askes.

Francois Alberts, owner of Woodstock Sandworks said they are fully aware of the matter as the daughter of Issac Tshinawe instituted legal proceedings.

He told North-West Unlocked that they acknowledges the matter between him and the late Isaac’s family, stating it’s now with their legal representatives.

He further added that he’s puzzled by the family’s decision to go public, given they’re represented by a lawyer. Alberts expresses surprise at the “huge and false allegations” made by the family, he said.
