Residents of Ledig Village March Against Illegal Migrants

IN the wake of a tragic incident that shook the community, residents of Ledig Village outside Rustenburg came together to stage a powerful march against the presence of illegal migrants in their area. The march, which took place last week, saw community members marching to Bakubung tribal office to demand urgent attention from authorities regarding the issue.

The march was sparked by the alleged murder of a local resident by illegal migrants, an incident that has left the community reeling and demanding action. The residents are calling for a multi-departmental approach to address the issue, involving Home Affairs, the Premier, and the tribal office, among others.

“We don’t want their shops or their presence in our community without proper documentation,” said a resident who participated in the march. “Everyone who comes here must come with the right papers. We demand that the authorities take immediate action to address this issue.”

The protesters marched to the local tribal office, submitting a memorandum of demands that outlines their grievances and proposed solutions. The community is adamant that the issue of illegal foreigners in their area must be addressed without delay.

The march highlights the growing concerns about the presence of illegal migrants in the area and the need for authorities to take decisive action. The community is united in its demand for a safer and more secure environment, and it remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to their demands.

Rakgadi Josephine Moseneke said the royal family is supportive of the community’s efforts and is willing to take action. When addressing the community she ensured that the memorandum will be taken to the relevant departments and ensured residents that the issue will be addressed with the urgency it deserves.

“Let’s trust that the authorities with our support will take the necessary steps to address the issue and provide the community with the support and protection they need.
