Bakubung Primary School in Ledig Village outside Rustenburg embarked on a highly successful Eco-March on Thursday, 15 May.

The event aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainability in the community while raising funds to refurbish the school’s Grade R playground. The Eco March began at Ledig Global Garage, where participants gathered to embark on a walk through the community, collecting litter and spreading awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.

The walk culminated at Bakubung Primary School, where stakeholders and learners planted trees and celebrated the achievements of the day.While the walk took place, other stakeholders engaged the school’s Grade R-3 learners in fun-filled sporting activities, ensuring all learners were actively involved and learned about the importance of taking care of the environment.

The march was made possible through the support of various stakeholders, including Sun Village SuperSpar, Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, Moses Kotane Local Municipality, Sun City – Sustainability, Moli & Mela, Bambanani Security Services, LESUMA Taxi Association, DEDECT, Morula Kids Conservation Club, AVBOB Rustenburg, Dento Solutions and many others.

Kedibone Jennifer Mathibe, the march organizer, expressed her gratitude to all contributors. Dhe said they are thrilled with the outcome and believe it is worth sharing with the broader community.
