Many motorists delay renewing their vehicle licences because they expect long queues and slow service, but residents of Tweelagate say the local traffic office has changed that perception. The office has been applauded for delivering fast, convenient and friendly service that makes the process easier for applicants.
Regular clients say Tweelagate Traffic is the most reliable office in the area for licence renewals and other vehicle-related services, with one motorist noting he knows he will not spend more than 30 minutes in the queue. “I appreciate the service here because it’s quick. The workers are friendly and will assist you wholeheartedly,” he said.
Another client said motorists do not have to worry about system downtime because the office operates with a generator, making it unaffected by power cuts.
“The station is not affected by power cuts, in that way I can come at any time that suits my schedule,” the client said.
Staff at the office say they often go beyond official working hours to ensure everyone is assisted. “Our motto is ‘We Serve the People’ hence it is important to do everything right for the people,” one worker said. She added that the team’s strength comes from learning from past challenges and keeping applicants informed. “It is important to always inform people on the queue what is causing a delay if there’s any, unlike leaving people standing not knowing what is happening,” she said.
Manager Andrew Letsholo said staff check that applicants have all the necessary documents while they are still in the queue to prevent people from waiting only to be turned away.
