FAMILY, friends and residents of Ramochana gathered to bid farewell to Primrose Happy Vale. The funeral service was held at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Tlhabane, Rustenburg on Saturday, 08 February. The family struggled to hold back tears as they remembered the life and times of Primrose whose life ended last year December.
Primrose Happy Vale reportedly died in Nigeria after suffering from Malaria. What was supposed to be a birthday celebration with friends in Lagos, Nigeria, turned sour when the birthday girl died.According to the Vale family in Rustenburg, North West, their daughter Primrose Happy Vale, 29, passed away on December 22 while visiting friends for the holiday season. Her father, Orlando, stated that he heard that his daughter died from malaria in Lagos. He only got the news a week after her passing.
Father Moteane when giving sermons during the service encouraged young people to seek God’s wisdom and guidance. “Do not look for status or riches when looking for a partner, not everything that glitters is gold. “Let the death of Happy be lesson to young people.” He said people should sympathise with the family instead of being judgmental. “There is no mutual in raising children, and that’s why we need to support Happy’s parents because no parent deserves to bury their child, “he said.
The body of Primrose arrived in South Africa on Friday 31 January after a lengthy process of repatriation.
The family struggled to raise funds that were needed and had asked for financial assistance. The family representative said it was indeed a difficult road for them to reach here, but thanked God for his grace that carried them throughout. The Vale family also gave thanks to each and everyone who took part in ensuring that their daughter is buried in dignity.
Primrose’s friend who asked to remain anonymous said she was a friendly lady who loved people. “We will remember her beautiful smile and joyful character.” It saddened us that she leaves her son and parents behind because she took care of them. “We are happy that she is finally home and will rest in peace.”
