SOUTH Africa’s biggest celebration of musical excellence is set to return to the North West Province in spectacular fashion, with the South African Music Awards (SAMA32) unveiling a star-studded line-up for this year’s ceremony at the iconic Sun City SuperBowl on 15 August 2026.Dubbed the “Homecoming Edition,” the awards promise an unforgettable evening of entertainment, bringing together some of the country’s biggest names in music.
The impressive line-up includes Cassper Nyovest, Babalwa M, Lordkez, Stoan, Ntencane, Shandesh, Mo’ Molemi, Tuks Senganga, Langa Mavuso, Beast RSA, Dladla Mshunqisi, Will Linley, Nia Pearl, Sam Deep, Dan Shaw, and Makhadzi.Adding to the excitement, audiences will also be treated to captivating performances by the internationally acclaimed Mmabana Dance Company and the Christian Progressive College, celebrating South Africa’s rich cultural and artistic diversity.
The 32nd edition of the awards will showcase a blend of hip hop, amapiano, Afro-pop, gospel, traditional music, soul, R&B, and alternative sounds, highlighting the depth and evolution of the country’s music industry.
Organisers say the performances have been specially curated to celebrate legendary artists while introducing audiences to the next generation of musical talent.SAMA32 spokesperson Unati Gwija said the awards continue to honour the extraordinary talent that defines South Africa’s musical identity.
“This year’s performance line-up reflects the diversity, creativity and global influence of South African music. Audiences can expect an immersive live production that celebrates established legends alongside the new generation of stars who continue to shape the future of our industry,” said Gwija.Hosted by Cassper Nyovest and Zanele Potelwa, this year’s awards will be held under the theme “The Future Sounds Like Now Now.”
The ceremony will recognise the artists, producers, songwriters and creators whose work has shaped the past year while celebrating the innovation that continues to elevate South African music on the global stage.Beyond celebrating music, organisers believe the event will further position the North West Province as a premier cultural and tourism destination. Thousands of fans, media representatives and industry professionals are expected to descend on Sun City, providing a significant boost to the local economy through tourism and hospitality.
